Dance and Rant

Just to let you know, I don't usually rant vocally, so you might be hearing about my life problems a bit. ;)

First off, there was a dance two nights and it was EPIC!!!!!!! Three of the boys I didn't dance with and a lot of them I did dance with I was re-teaching them some stuff.
BTW, it was a swing dance. Not a single-wiggle.
That being said... THE RANT BEGINS.

Last night my parents went out to watch a movie but they missed the first showing and 'had' to go the the 10:30 one, leaving me, myself, I and my brother and sister at each other's throats for five hours.
When they came back at 12:00 and we were still watching shows the informed us that we were hosting a brunch from some friends who's oldest was 12, which isn't so bad, but the 12 was a jerk. >:(
AND we had to go the the early mass at 8:30 AND IT IS STILL SUMMER!!!!!!
So we got up, went to mass, came back, made brunch/cleaned up, they came, we played, we ate, we made a fort, and we went to the orchard to get sticks.
On the way back we saw my brother and his two friends.
"We're going to the creek. Jo()brother said.
"Mercy?" five year old Peter tugged at my arm. "I-I want to go with-with them."
But the boys didn't want to take him so I picked up Fiona, three, and followed them.
Soon they were following me because they didn't know where the creek was and I did. >:D

With Fiona, who liked to be held, and Peter at my side and my hip we walked a quarter mile to the orchard and up a hill, down the hill with rocky and 'slippy' patches(me sill holding Fiona) then struggled to get pats the thickets to the creek.
Now, I should tell you that I don't babysit, and I'm not very good at it, but I'm always find myself alone with a  handful(never less than two) kids in tricky situations either at the creek or the fair.
They were both troupers, honestly. I kept asking if they wanted to go back(we were all hot, sweaty, and tired. I was having trouble keeping hold of Fiona) but even though she was constantly saying "Ow. Can I hold you?"(translation: can you hold me?) and Peter stopping, "There's something pokey in my shoe. they never said yes.
The boys weren't helping, although Peter gave a hand with Fiona so finally I said, "Do you want to go back?" to Fiona.
"No."
"I really need to go to the bathroom."
She thought about this seriously for a few moments, brows furrowed, then. "Ok. PETER?!"
"Yeah?"
"We're going back."
"Why?"
"We need to got to the bathroom."
So we turned and went up and steeper, but closer hill to head back, all the while I was trying to for Peter while not scrapping Fiona's legs on the thorns.
I was wearing Uggs, and that wasn't helping my grip on the dirt while carrying a three-year old who was getting very, very slippery and Peter had grabbed onto ad bush that thad prickers and neither of us could mover because Peter was in front but didn't want to move forward, and I couldn't put down Fiona one, because she didn't want to, and two, because there wasn't enough room.
FINALLY Joe came up to lead peter and I made it to the top of the hill with Fiona.
Another quarter mile of no shade and rocky ground and we were home.
It was over.
I was saved...
By a house.
Which is ironic because I'm always destroying them. :)
I had two glasses of ice water(for a lot of you that wouldn't be very much but for me it was like I was dying of thirst, which I wasn't. Just sweaty >;P ), got soaked in the shower for five seconds then dried off and changed.
Now we aren't going to the breach, thank you very much, and Pop just gave me twenty extra minutes in my room opposed to the four I had left(I'm copying this down from my notebook).
I think he might be quite ill.

I want to read something but I just finish a book and the Kindle isn't working and it seem like there is nothing on my bookshelf.
Oh, well...
I'll post again tomorrow, but most likely the day after.
TTFN!!

Happy Time!!!

So the fair is gone, finally!!!! Friends who did lambs this year went to the coffee shop with us and I had a piece of pecan praline cheese cake-which is AMAZING!!!!-and I had a lesson today with Deb, my writing coach and I gave her some work and said that I was doing really well and I'm very HAPPY because of it!!

... And the cake probably helped, but who's counting how many slices I had? ;)

I want to do fencing again at the House of Dance... or near it. There's this huge place in Ventura(ha ha ha) where they have dances/classes/lessons and there are a bunch of other buildings connected to it and I took fencing there. It was pretty neat, but they where one one one classes, so it was a bit one sided.

I'm filling up my notebook, slowly but surely(it's a big book, what can I say?)... that's another thing I'm happy about... oh, and I just found out that Percy Jackson and the Olympions: Sea of Monsters just came out along with the second season of Once Upon a Time... or it will come out on the 23th. Or is the 13th? I don't know... stop bugging me about not knowing the date, it's my life I'm living, not some non-writer person who has only social life.

That's all, folks!! See you around.

PS, isn't this TOTALLY EPIC AND WOULDN'T YOU LOVE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU BOOK-STYLE?!?!?!?

Jack

Continued...

I stepped out the door and ran smack bang into someone.
Trying to hold both him and his heavy off balanced tray filled with flowers and food steady I braced myself for the horrendous, messy crash that was soon to come.
It didn’t.
I chuckled quietly and said. “Wow... that was close. Sorry about that, my bad.”
“No! No no, it was my fault... I should have been quicker.”
Who is that?
Glancing up I met the grey-gold eyes of Jack from down stairs.
Dang, he’s tall!! But all I said was, “Do you need help with anything?”
Jack didn’t even bother to hide his surprise. “Uh... no, I’m good... sorry, not my place to ask, but you aren’t from here, are you?”
I laughed. “No, it’s fine. No, I’m not. I just flew in from California.”
“First time out?”
“Well, I’ve been to Nevada to visit family, but that’s about it. I’m a home girl... Mercy.” I held out a hand. “My name is Mercy.”
He shook it. “Jack. Well...” he looked down at his nametag. He gasped. “Oh! This is for you.”
“What?”
“This...” he held up the tray. “Your friend had me bring it up for you.”
I was confused. I didn’t know anyone in New York and Molly wasn’t coming back until tomorrow. “Come on in then.” I stepped aside and held the door. I guess my exploring will have to wait.
Jack set it down on the counter by the sink.
“Did you catch her name?”
“It was a man, and no, I’m sorry to say that I didn’t.”
“Um... thank you.” This is weird. “Well, there is no way in heck that I can finish this all by myself by tomorrow. Take some with you and share it with your buddies.”
“Really? You don’t have to do that...”
“Yes, I do. I ran into you and I’ll feel guilty until you take something.”
Jack took stock of the large tray. “I couldn’t.”
“Then let me put it this way; you take many somethings from the tray, or I’ll TP your house.”
“You don’t know where I live.” Jack folded his arms triumphantly.
“Jack Stagar. There can’t be that many people with that name in his city. I’ll TP them all if I have too.”
He looked stunned. “How did you know my last name?”
I put a finger to my temple.
“Your psychic? I don’t believe it.”
“And your right not too. I’m not. I just saw your name on the paper when we ran into each other.”
Jack glanced at the clipboard he was holding. “Riiiiiiight...” he rubbed his neck and chuckled. “I forgot about that.”
“So; take things, or be punished by toilet paper.”
“Fine.” he grabbed a large chocolate bunny, a handful of flowers and a pocketful of wrapped candies. “There, satisfied?”
I squinted at him. “It’ll do.”

Do'n My Thing

Continued...

Molly left soon after we found my room-which was huge- saying that she had to get back to work, and that she’ll call before she came by tomorrow to take me shopping.
When the door closed on her I sighed and leaned against it with folded arms.
“This has been one heck of a day.” I said glancing around me. The suit was mostly to my left with a flat screen in each room. Living room was down three stairs filled with colorful couches and fancy chairs and pillows so stuffed with fluff that they were as stiff as a brick.
The kitchen was before the stairs to my left and had a sink, a giant fridge chalk full of food and eating things.
The bedroom was not closer to my taste than the rooms before it were. Huge king sized bed with dark purple drapes and gold tassels, the quilt was tan with purple and pink flowers covering it top to bottom.
The bathroom, like everything else, was bigger than was good for it, and more than ready to have pictures taken as a commercial. It was connected to both the bedroom and the living room.
“So... write, ignore the huge expensiveness, write, check the blog... and look up how many Authorians there are.” I added.
I quickly unpacked my things and placed my satchel by my side and, not even trying to use the flat screen I pulled out my laptop and sat down on the floor. I typed it in and clicked on the first site that came up.

Q: How Many Authorians Are There Really?
A: 98,392,597

“What...? That can’t be right...” I searched on multiple sites but all said roughly the same thing. Finally I sighed and leaned back against the wall.
“Six thirty. I should go eat.” I told myself.
Instead I got up and got out the book I was currently re-reading. The Belgariad. It was the fifth time time I had read the five books by David Eddings, and I planned to read them again after a year or two.
I did what I usually did when I started reading. I ignored everything else around me, my hunger, my need to use the restroom until finally I had no choice in the matter.
I thought, Well, I’m already up, might as well eat. I moved to the fridge and looked around for the milk. Ah! There it is... I reached for it before realizing it was 2%. Should I do it? The last time I had had 2% was on a dare with Rick...
I blanched at the thought. I hadn’t seen any of them in years. I doubted that they even remembered me. I was always the quieter one.
And so I chose a Coke instead and fixed up two PB&J’s and one PB&N, just because I happened to see the Nutella in the cupboard.
Lathering on the peanut butter, jelly and butter-yes, yes, I know, weird, but it’s GOOD!!!-I slapped the four sides together and ate it in five minutes.
Yes, I’m also a fast eater.
Downing the Coke and resorting to the 2% because it is humanly impossible to eat peanut butter or chocolate without it I sat at the couch and planned the rest of the...
I checked my wrist with the ever present, unused hairbands.
...night.
I would just explore the hotel. When I was younger that was the first thing that I would do if Mom and Dad let me, but now I needed to act like an adult.
“Stupid, STUPID expectations!!” I stood up and ‘fixed’ my hair(by ‘fixed’ I mean ‘totally and absolutely frizz it up... more’). “Well... that’s ALL GOING TO CHANGE... no more 'behave!!!s' for me!”

Five Star Hotel Plaza

Continued...

“You looked pretty shocked when you first saw them.” Molly commented.
So I guess I’m not as good as I thought I was.
“Yeah... I didn’t know that I had a fandom... Authorians...”
Molly gasped loudly. “You’re kidding, right?”
I shrugged and let my hair serve as a wall. My face grew hot with embarrassed for mentioning it. “No.”
“Girl...” Molly shook her head and glanced sideways at me pityingly. “Do you ever go on the computer?”
“Yeah!” I laughed. “But only to write, email, and give hints on my next book on the blog.”
“Wait...” she started. “You have a blog?!”
“Yes.”
“Why haven’t you told anyone?”
“Because I wanted to see how people reacted when I would make predictions that turn out to be mostly true.”
“What is it called?”
“Will you tell anyone?”
“No.”
“TipathaIsIn.blogspot.com.”
“That’s you??”
“Yep-iddi-do-da.”
Molly shook her head. “I placed bets on what was going to happen next by her posts.”
“Really? How much did you win?”
“Not much. I kept on making the wrong bet.”
“I’m sorry, I’ll try to be more obvious in the future.”
Molly laughed. “Do you know the schedule?”
I shook my head. “Nope.”
“You can do what you want today and tomorrow, then I’m going to pick up up at twoish to go to the studio. We on live at seven.”
“How are they going to announce it?”
“With lights, cameras, and action.”
“But of course.” I leaned back in my seat. “What should I wear?”
Molly looked down at what I was wearing. “I’ll take you shopping tomorrow. Where do you usually go?”
I cringed. “Shopping? Where do I usually go? I usually try to avoid the thing, but sometimes I would tag along with griend to Goodwill.”
She blinked. “Goodwill? Is that all?”
“It’s all I need.”
“Ok then. I’ll decide on a list that we can stop by and pick up a few things. What sizes are you?”
I shrugged and grinned, knowing that Molly was not going to be expecting this. “Like I said, I went to Goodwill. I didn’t pay attention to sizes.”
“Hmhm. I don’t doubt it.”
Laughing we pulled up to a fancy looking hotel with a green and gold awning and stone building.
“Here we are, home sweet home.”
I stepped out and pulled my things from the trunk and followed Molly inside.
“Hello, we have a reservation.”
“Name, please?” the spiky black haired boy asked, putting his hands to a keyboard.
“Alex Forest.”
“Thank you. You will be in room 713 on the fourth floor.” Jack-I read his name tag- pulled out a card from underneath the desk and handed it to Molly.
“Would you like any help with your bags, miss?” he asked me.
I shook my head. “No, thank you. I don’t have much, it should be easy.”
He raised an eyebrow but nodded. “Will that be all?”
“Yes, thank you.”
“Have a nice night, ladies.”
We walked over to the elevator and hit the button.
“You... are quite a girl.”
I glanced at Molly curiously. “Why, what do you mean?”
“You didn’t want any help.”
“I could handle it. It’s only three things.”
“Oh, I know you could, but most young ladies in New York wouldn't-or couldn’t-pass up the opportunity to have a handsome young man help them carry their things.”
I started at her wide eyed. “Human girls are so totally weird.”

Authorians

Continued...

When I saw them I almost froze, but not quite. I was good at live acting. Not on stage so much, but other whys I was a pro.
I walked over to a large band of people from babes in arms to old men and woman with canes and in wheel chairs, most of them wearing trench coats, combat or hiking boots, baseballs hats or brown and cream checkered gold caps with fish braids or spiked hair. All where holding signs that said things like

WE <3 YOU, AUTHOR!!!

AUTHOR RULES!!!

AURTHORIANS WILL CONQUOR ALL! AUTHOR, GO TO author'sfandom.com  . YOU'RE AWESOME!!

All eyes where on me as i strolled up. "Hi..." I started hesitantly. "What all this?"
"The-Author-is-coming-to-New-York-today-but-we-don't-know-which-plane-so-we're-just-standing-out-here-giving-Authorian-confidence-to-random-people-who-might-be-him!!!!" a redhead squealed. Several of her friends patted her soothingly saying, "Sh, calm down Mattie... it's okay..."
Mattie looked at me apologetically. "Sorry about them; they know nothing."
i laughed at that, along with the other people around us who heard. "We shall see, we shall see... you guys did an epic job on this." I motioned to the signs and clothing.
"Really? Do you think that Author will like it? Did we use the right wording and accessories do you think?"
I wouldn’t have mentioned it, but they asked, so... “Well, I think that Author would have used ‘shall’ instead of ‘will’, but that’s mostly a matter of opinion.”
“Thanks!” Mattie turned to the spiky haired boy holding said sign and shouted. “Dave!” the boy turned. “Take it down, we’re changing the ‘will’ to ‘shall’!”
Dave nodded and took it down. Immediately it disappeared as people crowded up to it with colored markers and glowing stars.
“Say, how come you like the Author’s book’s so much?” I held out my hands in defence at the girl’s shocked glance. “I’m just wondering if you like it for the same reasons I do.”
“Well..” Mattie looked around. “I can relate to Andrea’s and Fred’s problems.”
“Me too!”
“Me three!”
More people started to take part, finishing each others sentences.
“And they let us know that even the greatest heroes of all time-”
“-Especially the greatest heroes of all time!” a little boy on his sister’s shoulders emphasised. The crowd shook with mirth.
“-That they’re just like us. They read, and they have a crazy imagination-”
“-That helps them think of impossible solutions-”
“-To get things done in-”
“-A crazy”
“-And chaotic manner.”
People from the group were shouting out random thing that they liked about the books now.
“Fred’s hair!” all the girls screamed and sighed.
“Andrea's  awkward clutch on sanity.” and the boys murmured in agreement.
“That’s how we feel like half the time.”
“I picked up You Can’t Save Me because the back looked interesting-”
“-Then we read and saw that they had the same problems we had-”
“-And people started to talk about it on the internet-”
“-Saying, ‘Yeah,  I relate to Andea a ton’-”
“Or ‘I feel like Fred does every day’-”
“-And everyone just started to realize-”
“-That they weren’t the only ones with-”
“-Secret probably mental problems-”
“-Or hidden trust issues-”
“-And we formed a huge fandom because the Author brought us all together-”
“-And made us feel not so alone-”
“-And he must feel the same way we do-”
“-because how can he take all that pain and put it onto the page without understanding-”
“-And experiencing it for-”
“-Himself?”
“The Author helped us find people who understood us-”
“-People who we could talk about it to-”
“-Not that we needed to all that much... they already knew.”
“We’re making sure that the Author doesn’t feel alone.” one of Mattie’s friends finished.
I nodded, not trusting my voice and holding back tears.
You’re not alone.
Three words that I have been waiting to hear for eight years.
“But that was telling you why we’re here.” Mattie frowned. “He’s really just a good writer.”
“Original.”
“...No, he kinda just reuses old Ideas and gives them new stuffing.”
The boy sitting atop his sister’s shoulders nodded solemnly. “The ultimate recycler.”
We laughed and the tears gave up their attempt to flow.
“He has a bunch of really neat Ideas.”
“He realises the real reason for dating and is holding back until Andea and Fred turn at least six teen.”
The Authorians cheered at this.
“But we think that he’s going to wait until the sixth book.”
“Second to last?” I questioned. “Why?”
Mattie shrugged. “Because we know him better than he knows himself and won’t get on with it until they’re seventeen.”
“I just like everything about it.” a boy commented.
The girls all screamed at once. “FRED’S HAIR!!”
After the giggling and sighing calmed down to a roar, Molly said, “People are saying that he’s Moffat’s secret son.”
“Or the son he never had.”
I laughed. “That... would be awesome.” I glanced back at Molly. “I gotta go, but it was really nice talking to you all... you have no Idea. Bye, I hope you get to meet him!”
I walked off to several ‘goodbyes’ and plucked my things in the trunk of Molly’s ((cabbie car. I can’t remember what they’re called sorry!:’( )) an sat down in shotgun with my satchel on my lap.
“What did they say?” Molly asked.
“Things that I’ve been wanting to here for years. Thank you for waiting.”
“No problem."

New York

Continued...

I couldn't help myself. I squealed when I stepped off of the plane.
This is insane. I shouldn't be here. I'm not prepared for this. This is way out of my 'normal'.
"I cannot believe that I'm in New York."
It was totally exiting, but I couldn't help but think, The band should be here. Trying to ignore my dark side for once I dragged my suitcase, backpack strapped onto it, ever present satchel over my left shoulder and walked into the lobby.
I worked easily against the churning people. I had never been in such a large crowd but the rules where the same; mine.
Slipping out of the mainstream and into a slower patch of people. Seconds after entering it I adapted to the new rhythm and starred looking for my ride.
"Excuse me, sir?" a tall woman in her thirties with greying brown hair was talking to an elderly man nearby. He turned.
"Yes?"
"I'm Molly Travison. Are you...?"
The man grinned toothily, which surprised me. "Ah. I see. Looking for the Author, are we?"
Ms. Travison shrugged and smiled. "One can hope."
"Well, have a nice day, Miss Molly... I hope you find him." the old man smiled and waved as he walked away.
"So do I." Ms. Travison murmured, gazing anxiously into the churning mass of bodies. She was looking worried so I walked up to her.
"Um, ma'm?" she didn't turn and I silently cursed the instinct that made my voice quiet when I wanted to get someone's attention. "Excuse me," I brushed a hand over her shoulder, not that it did much good, and spoke louder. "Ma'm?"
This time she turned, much to my relief. She smiled wearily.
"Yes? May I help you?"
"Actually, I was thinking of helping you." I reached into my bag saying, "I'm your passenger." and showed her a picture of a sunflower and a box of Candie's chocolates.
Her grey eyes widened and traveled from my recklessly arrayed brown hair and green eyes to my Shakespearian styled shirt to me worn bellbottom jeans and torn hiking green boots.
"Oh! I'm sorry. This is rather... shocking." she grinned weakly. "We... I mean, no one..."
"No one expected me to be an eighteen year old girl?"
Ms. Travison shook her head. "You must have been fifteen when your first book You Can't Save Me won the Aga Khan prize and the Gold Meddle!"
"Yeah, somewhere around there." I slammed my hand to my forehead. "I'm sorry, my name-
"No, please." Ms. Travison smiled and held up and hand. "No one is supposed to know who you are until Thursday night for the unveiling of the Author. We want it to be a surprise for everyone. I'm Molly Travison." we shook. "But you may call me Molly. Please follow me, I'll be driving you to your hotel."
I nodded. "Alright."
I smiled and followed her out of the airport.
