Here's the story that I wrote:
~*~
"Greta, no! Please, stop-!" I spun around to face the tall figure in the grey colored shirt. Despite the snow that lay on the ground in pure white layers he hadn't bothered to put on his usual black trench coat and blue scarf.
Maybe he had forgotten it in his haste to get to me. He is changing, that's for sure; he's more human now.
But is more human better for him?
"Stop it! Just stop! I'm sick and tired of being second best. Your married to your work! I loved you, and after John died I thought that you might even have loved me back... but then you went off and left without an explanation. I had thought that you liked me enough to at least say 'Sorry, I need to go' or 'Gotta go' but noooo! You were in such a rush to get back to your precious work and away from me that you didn't even notice when your chair tipped over in the restaurant and left me to explain some that I couldn't. You didn't even notice that I wasn't there with you. You didn't wait. You didn't do anything."
"B-"
"NO. It's over. Goodbye, Sherlock. I'll leave you to your work."
I turned my back to the man that I had once loved... maybe I still did.
I gasped as I felt a warm hand on my arm and whip me around to look at him.
He didn't say anything at first. Just looked at me with his piercing blue eyes. Sherlock's high cheek bones threw shadows on his face from the half moon. He wasn't used to emotions yet so they showed plainly on his face were his obvious sadness was plainly, deeply etched. Pale blue eyes gave away his love and, stranger than the last, fear.
My heart made me want to believe that he was afraid of loosing me too. Just like dear old John. I was is life saver when it happened, when the assassin snuck into their apartment and murdered the faithful friend. Sherlock almost drowned in sorrow then. He didn't know how to control his feelings. He took on more, and more cases until he was worn to the bone. Maybe he was afraid of going through that again, or maybe he was honestly afraid of loosing another friend.
My head was screaming at me No!! He thinks it's a game. He doesn't really care. He's the same man who you first met at the bookshop. Your a fool to fall for him in the first place.
But that first time that we met had been so perfect, so magical.
We were both looking in the murder mystery section at a bookstore, on different isles.
I had felt eyes on me so I looked up over the shelf to lock eyes with a pair of blue ones. Curly black hair bounced slightly as he walked over to me, eyes never blinking or leaving mine.
Finally he stood in front of me. He just looked for a few seconds, hands in his pockets, black color up, blue scarf around his neck. Then he said-
"Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are?"
Sherlock reached up and wiped my cheek with a warm, rough hand. I felt my face; tears.
Huh. I hadn't even noticed. But now that I realized it all just came pouring out. I sobbed and immediately Sherlock hugged me and I was crying into his shoulder. I just rapped my arms around him and cried till my head hurt and then some.
Soon his shirt was soaked but I couldn't stop. He didn't complain though. He just held me tight, and stroked my hair.
We stood there in each other's arms until the sky began to lighten.
Then I felt something in my hair. It was wet, but there were no clouds in the sky.
It was a tear.
